Employee's health condition assessment



The entry examination may be temporarily replaced by an affidavit if your employment relationship arose after 19.1.2021 (inclusive) and your job falls within the first and second category (and at the same time is not included in any of the exceptions listed in the Regulation). For the purposes of providing occupational medical services each employer in the Czech Republic is obliged to categorize the works that his employees perform at its workplace into four categories based on the level of health risk.

The affidavit is valid 90 days from the day following the termination of the state emergency

If your work is classified as third or fourth risk category,  you are required to undergo an examination (it is therefore not possible to replace it with an affidavit).

Issuance of medical report 

The medical report required for the exercise of certain professions may be temporarily replaced by an affidavit for the duration of the state of emergency. Your employer should contact you and provide relevant information of your obligation to have a medical report. 

Periodic examinations

Periodic examinations do not need to be carried out during the state of emergency.

Validity of medical assessments

The validity of medical assessments ends over the course of the state of emergency, to continue to be deemed valid; 

  • 90 days from the day following the termination of the state of emergency, if the outcome of the medical assessment states that the assessed person is medically fit for the purpose which they were assessed for.
  • 30 days from the day following the termination of the state of emergency, if the outcome of the medical assessment states that the assessed person is conditionally medically fit for the purpose which they were assessed for.

The Ministry of Health strongly recommends carrying out occupational health examinations.
