COVID-Tourism- The call has ended



Tourism support is sponsored by the Ministry of Regional Development and is provided in three categories.

 

Travel bureaus support

The subsidy is intended to support the tourism industry, respectively travel agencies affected by the consequences of measures taken by the government and the Ministry of Health, related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The support is aimed at strengthening liquidity, maintaining the operation of these facilities and maintaining the supply of existing services and jobs. The aid will have a positive effect on the development of the sector.

 

Purpose/conditions for drawing: The subsidy is intended for the operation and/or payment of customers' claims for tours with a start date in the period from February 20th, 2020 to October 10th, 2020, which were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Maximum aid amount: The aid amount does not exceed 2.5% of the planned revenue from the sale of tours and the sale of tourism services that are part of the combined travel services for 2020.

Relevant period: February 20th, 2020 - October 10th, 2020

Receipt of application: November 11th, 2020 - January 29th, 2021

The Ministry of Regional Development is preparing to launch a new call in the first half of February for large travel agencies (for the 8 largest in the Czech Republic). We will let you know when we know more about the program. The information known so far can be found on the website of the Ministry of Regional Development.

 

Support for travel agencies

The subsidy is intended to support the tourism industry, or travel agencies affected by the consequences of measures taken by the government and the Ministry of Health, related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The support is aimed at strengthening liquidity, maintaining the operation of these facilities and maintaining the supply of existing services and jobs. The aid will have a positive effect on the development of the sector.

 

Purpose/conditions for drawing: Canceled tours with the date of commencement of the tour in the period from February 20th, 2020 to October 10th, 2020 and emphasis on a different relevant period in the case of canceled spa stays that could not be realized in the period from March 14th, 2020 to May 24th, 2020

 

Maximum aid amount: : Subsidy of CZK 500 to cover the losses of travel agencies for a canceled trip or spa stay. The subsidy will be calculated for tours with a start date in the period from February 20th, 2020 to October 10th, 2020, which were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. With regard to canceled spa stays, the subsidy will apply only to those that could not be implemented due to a ban or restriction under a crisis measure of the Government of the Czech Republic or a measure of the Ministry of Health in the period from March 14th, 2020 to May 24th, 2020.

 

A flat-rate subsidy according to the revenue that the agency achieved in 2019, provided that it recorded a drop of more than 50% and that it is an agency whose main activity is inbound tourism.

 

The subsidy will be in the flat rates of CZK 50,000, CZK 100,000, CZK 250,000 and CZK 500,000. It is not possible to combine the two subsidies.

 

Relevant period: February 20th, 2020 - October 10th, 2021

Tour guides support

The subsidy is intended to support the tourism industry, respectively guides affected by the consequences of measures taken by the government and the Ministry of Health, related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The support is aimed at strengthening liquidity, maintaining operations and maintaining the supply of existing services and jobs. The support will have a positive effect on the development of the sector and, where appropriate, on the development of the professional skills of guides so that, if necessary, they can gain employment in other fields that are not dependent on inbound tourism.

 

Purpose/conditions for drawing: The guide can apply for a subsidy of CZK 50,000; assuming that:

  1. provided educational services to a school facility for at least ten teaching hours by June 30th 2021 at the latest, which he can prove to the subsidy provider with a work report confirmed by the school principal by July 31st 2021 at the latest, or
  2. completes further education or retraining course accredited by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports for the purpose of further employment on the market by December 31st 2021, which is proven by the subsidy provider with a relevant document (certificate, etc.) no later than January 31st 2022. it is considered fulfilled even if the fulfillment of this condition was started before the submission of the application for the provision of the subsidy, at any time during the relevant period.

If the guide does not meet any of the conditions above, he will be entitled to a subsidy of CZK 40,000.

The maximum amount of support: CZK 50,000 if the conditions are met. Otherwise 40,000 CZK.
