Pandemic Act

The Pandemic Act is a designation used for Act No. 94/2021 Coll. On the day of its effectiveness, the Czech Republic entered a state of pandemic alert. In a state of pandemic alert, the Ministry of Health and the Regional Hygiene Station (incl. The Hygiene Station of the Capital City of Prague) may announce extraordinary measures aimed at mitigating the spread of the covid-19 pandemic. A state of pandemic alert may be terminated by a resolution of the Chamber of Deputies adopted on the proposal of the Government or one-fifth of all deputies (40 deputies).

Emergency measures

There are specific measures designed to address the crisis and eliminate or mitigate the consequences of the covid-19 pandemic.

Extraordinary measures may restrict certain rights and freedoms and impose specific obligations. In particular, they may restrict trade and services or determine the conditions of their operation.

If you are looking for clearly arranged valid rules, take a look at our Current Measures section. For each measure separately, its validity is listed there, and you can also view measures that will take effect in the future. And if you do not want to read through the text in legal language, look at Life Situations, where we interpret the measures with practical examples in understandable language.
