Regulations

The obligation to wear a nose and mouth protection device is stated by an extraordinary measure of the Ministry of Health.

This is monitored by municipal and also by state police forces.The powers of the police may also be exercised by the Customs Administration and members of the Army of the Czech Republic. Less serious violations of an extraordinary measure can be resolved by agreement, but a fine of up to CZK 10,000 may also be imposed. A fine may be imposed on the spot or the matter may be referred to administrative proceedings.

If you violate quarantine or isolation, it can be treated as a crime of spreading infectious disease.

Sanctions are governed by this legislation

Police jurisdiction to monitor the wearing of protective face covering by the public is stated by a Special Law. Penalties are stated by the Act No. 258/2000 Coll., on the protection of public health (§ 92n, paragraph 1b of this Act), and by the Act No. 250/2016 Coll.,on the liability for offences and proceedings concerning them (§ 91 of this Act).
