Traveling by car

Rules and recommendations

Obligation to cover your mouth and nose with a respirator or other protective device without an exhalation valve, with a filtration efficiency of at least 94% (class FFP2 / KN 95), also applies in the car.

Within the obligation of wearing a face mask, there are some exemptions.

You don't have to have a mask in the car if you drive alone or only with the people you live with. Children under the age of 2 and people with intellectual disabilities and severe mental disorders do not have to wear a mask if they cannot wear one due to their condition.

Children from 3 to 15 years of age can use a surgical mask as protection, but we recommend they use a respirator as well.

Obligation to wear a face mask includes any journey via your own car, business vehicles, taxis or car-sharing (services such as Uber, Bolt etc.).
