Cross-border workers can enter the Czech Republic without any conditions if they regularly cross the state border between the Czech Republic and a neighboring state at least once a week back and forth to work on the territory of the Czech Republic or on the territory of a neighboring state of the Czech Republic. Citizens of the Czech Republic, the EU, and foreigners with a long-term or permanent residence permit in the EU are allowed to enter the Czech Republic without any conditions, including for the purpose of traveling to work and to carry out business or other similar activities, provided that such a stay does not exceed a set period of 12 hours (in the case of neighboring countries, the period is 24 hours). Before traveling, study the general rules on wearing protective equipment indoors and outdoors.
If the journey for work reasons exceeds 12 hours, all current rules apply to you.
Drivers in international freight transport are exempted from the obligation to register electronically, have tests, and quarantine.
Drivers in international freight transport have been given an exemption from a previous order for antigen tests at sampling points. Those who can prove themselves at the collection point with a driver's license with the code "95" on the backside, a certificate of professional competence, or a driver's card can undergo an antigen test without ordering. Employees of the critical infrastructure service, whose performance is in the interest of the Czech Republic has a certain exemption from the rules. More detailed information can be found here.
An employer who has hired a foreigner for work reasons is obliged to prepare him accommodation for the entire period of stay in the Czech Republic, health care for the entire period of stay, and its payment and return to the country of origin in case of loss of purpose.
