Rules and recommendations

Based on European Union measures, a general time extension of 10 months has been granted within all EU member states. This concerns certificates of Period Technical Inspection (PTI) which expired from 1st September 2020 to 30th June 2021. Certificates that expired from 1st February 2020 to 31st August 2020 had been already prolonged by 7 months and are not eligible for another prolongation. Detailed information together with an online calculator of certificate validity extension can be found on the Ministry of Transport websites.

PTI (STK in Czech) remains in operation. Ministry of Transport recommends booking an appointment for regular vehicle inspection as safety on roads is a priority.

Nose and mouth covering are no longer mandatory.
