As for the vaccination against COVID-19, same rules and regulations as for any other vaccination apply regarding the consent to vaccinate a person with limited legal capacity.
For individual guardians as well as members of guardianship councils who are unsure if their proceedings are right and in accordance with the law, we recommend an informational leaflet on vaccination in clients of long-term homecare facilities whose legal capacity is limited, issued by the Office of the Public Defender of Rights (in Czech only).
The Public Defender of Rights also has issued a recommendation (in Czech only) regarding clients being cared about using another measure (e.g. support when making a decision, representation by a family member or appointing a guardian without declaring the client's legal capacity limited) or no measure who, however, are unable to give a consent.
