PCR tests (RT-PCR test)

What is PCR test and how does it work

PCR test is a molecular test which determines genetic material of the (RNA) SARS-CoV-2 virus. It is performed by wiping the nasopharynx, pharynx or from the saliva or by gargling.

Advantages of PCR test

  • precise result (in theory, you can detect even one RNA molecule from the sample)

Disadvantages of PCR test

  • higher price
  • the results are usually provided within 48 hours

The most used test is the RT-PCR test, but RT-LAMP test is also used – however, it is not as precise as RT-PCR test. It is also not that demanding on the laboratory equipment, so it is faster and cheaper.

How do I get a certificate of recovery

Certificate of recovery is generated on the 10th day since sampling.
